Commercial & Infrastructure (C&I) proudly introduces Gerhard Vorster, a remarkable business leader renowned for his outstanding business acumen and corporate governance.
Retired in 2015 after having been with Deloitte for 28 years, Gerhard has held senior leadership positions in Deloitte for the last 25 years, notably as Managing Partner Consulting for South Africa, East Asia, Australia as well as Asia Pacific. He was also a core member of the Deloitte Global Management Consulting Executive as well as the Deloitte Global Innovation Council. Gerhard’s last role was the Chief Strategy Officer for Deloitte in Australia and Asia Pacific. His role prior was the Managing Partner of Consulting for Deloitte Australia and Asia Pacific. Gerhard also led the Deloitte innovation program in Australia – both internally and as a service offering.
Gerhard was the inaugural Chairman of the RMIT Business School Advisory Board and the Patron Emeritus of Good Design Australia.
A professional civil engineer by original training with a MBA (Cum Laude), his specific professional capabilities include strategy, turnarounds, repositioning and releasing value out of organisations, with a specific understanding of infrastructure projects, sustaining capital optimisation and portfolio optimisation.
Gerhard’s contribution to C&I will focus on assisting the executive with governance in general and specifically in robust growth strategies, ensuring that the strategic importance of accurate forecasting for both OPEX as well as CAPEX is understood and reflected in corporate processes and priorities and to engage with both clients and executives in the institutionalisation of such.
