We are delighted to announce the appointment of Michael James as Director QLD, Commercial & Infrastructure.

Having previously collaborated with our CEO, James Durney, Michael brings a trusted and familiar leadership presence to support C&I’s growth in Queensland.

A Brisbane native with more than 30 years of international leadership experience across Australia, the Middle East and Asia, Michael brings an outstanding track record of delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure programs valued at more than $11.5 billion.

His experience spans transport and energy infrastructure, major program management, ECI and alliance procurements, modern methods of construction, digital delivery and sustainability, perfectly aligned with Queensland’s unprecedented pipeline of work.

Michael has led iconic global projects including the Diriyah Gate cultural mega-project in Saudi Arabia, the Al Janoub FIFA World Cup Stadium in Qatar (delivered 18 months early) and the Expo Village Dubai, and most recently has been providing strategic advice on major Brisbane infrastructure initiatives.

With Queensland at the heart of Australia’s infrastructure boom, and the Brisbane 2032 Games fast approaching, Michael’s leadership strengthens our ability to partner with government and private clients to deliver lasting, high-quality outcomes for the state.
