Great Western Highway Upgrade Program
The Great Western Highway Upgrade Program is a major investment project which involves the construction of a new four-lane carriageway, and 11km 2-lane dual tunnel, set to reduce traffic congestion and provide safer, more reliable journeys for all through the Blue Mountains.
Covering a distance of approximately 34 kilometres, this upgrade program will cater to the future growth of the region, which is projected to reach a staggering 300,000 by 2036. To achieve this, multiple projects have been put in place, including several surface works projects and the construction of an impressive 11-kilometer twin tunnel between Blackheath and Little Hartley.
Commercial & Infrastructure key individuals were engaged as the program wide cost advisors, responsible for producing CAPEX and OPEX cost estimates through strategic, concept and detailed design milestones for the various scope packages.
